Judgment

I have two questions tonight. I read a lot of smut and fantasy books, and I guess being 21 I have "grown out of that stuff," is what all of my friends say. And the thing is, whenever my friends find out what books I read they relentlessly make fun of me for it. They always say that its so childish or that I am weird for reading smut books. It really sucks because it is something that I am really passionate about and it hurts that no one takes my passions seriously.

Have any of you had these same problems?

It just feels like I can't talk to them about what I like. I mean I don't have any other friends that like the same books/series that I all the friends I do love fiction and philosophy books so they look down on what I read. In my opinion, everyone likes what they like, and I would never shame anyone for what they read. I just don't know why fantasy and smut get looked down on so much. Book supremacists are a very real thing and it annoys me so much. Like dont think that you are better than me for reading more "mature" books.
